ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) Gov. Kathy Hochul said New York’s annual holiday drive is underway to collect toys, coats and school supplies for children and families in need. Hochul announced the statewide drive Tuesday, Nov. 3. Donations of new, unwrapped toys, school supplies and new or gently used coats will be accepted from Nov. 2 through Dec. 4. “The holiday season brings out the best in New Yorkers, and our annual toy drive is back,” Hochul said. “A little generosity can go a long way, and we hope New Yorkers consider donating coats, toys or school supplies to deliver some holiday cheer to their neighbors. I’m proud to continue this annual tradition and encourage everyone who can participate to help ensure children and families have what they need to enjoy the holiday season.” The Capital Region will have an extended collection period through Dec. 11. It will accept both in person drop offs and shipped packages, with online orders going to Empire State Plaza, P1 South Dock J, Al
